Next up: Luxembourg! Only stayed a couple days here. Beautiful small country with free public transportation!
Originally I wanted to stay in Luxembourg City for 2 days, but there wasn't hostel space for one of the days, so we ended up rerouting to Vianden, which was a 1-2 hour bus-ride north of Luxembourg City, and it was LOVELY.
A beautiful castle! Any place with a castle must be worth visiting.
On the first night, got dinner by the river, wine in hand. Castle in view. The height of luxury.
Also, there was an acoustic guitar at the hostel we stayed at. So, naturally, I played. :) Made me happy.
Did a hike, and BOY was it steep. But so fun. The views were gorgeous from up top!
The following day, took the bus down (free!) to Luxembourg City where our next hostel was. My friend had to get some work done, so I explored the city for a bit with a new friend I made from Ireland (originally from the Philippines). We were staying at the same hostel together. It was lovely to peddle around by foot.
Lots of mini photoshoots. We took an elevator up, with some great views, to the upper level of the city. Walked around some more.
Did I mention I love bookstores?
There was a beautiful and expansive outdoor park that we wandered around. On the upper level, there was this nice public area with plentiful seating, and also food and beverages to snack on. It was wonderful to hang out and bathe in the sun.
Really enjoyed visiting Luxembourg. Tiny but mighty. Thank you for your beauty and free public spaces!
