This was a relatively short trip but a fun, cute little side quest.
Spent some time walking around the downtown! Unfortunately it was raining the first day or two we got there, so we didn't spend a lot of time outside. Visited the main museum, got some food, saw the water. It was cute. :)
Took a day trip to Tulum, which originally I didn't want to do (too much time for an already short stay), but it ended up being fun and cool to see. Saw the ruins and lots of iguanas. We had a tour guide, and they would even crawl up his leg! I think he feeds them which is why they like him so much.
The ruins were beautiful and along the beach side, which gave them a very unique feel and aesthetic.
So many iguanas!
Drove down the island to a lighthouse and explored around there. I remember there being a large ecological park that we walked around. Some nice scenic outlooks. There was a post you could climb and see crocodiles! (Alligators?)
At the resort we stayed in, we also did some beach-side activites - kayaking, lounging in hammocks, walking in the sand. I love reading on the beach. There were many crabs, one of which I caught! And then it pinched me, which was actually (or maybe obviously) very painful.
Thanks for the memories, Cozumel!
