Took just a quick jaunt day trip over the border from Vienna to Bratislava! So, so fun. I'm glad we made this happen, even if we did have to sprint to make the last train back to Vienna. There was a lot of sprinting for trains on this trip...
It was a lovely train ride! Got to watch the country side roll by.
It was a HOT day. Wandered around the city in the sun, and found different fountains to splash around in.
Gelato. Needed.
Went and found the picturesque blue church! Many a photo taken.
Also stumbled into some blue umbrellas above!
Took pictures by the famous "Man At Work" statue in the ground.
Got snacks at a cute cafe after visiting a local church. They were SO GOOD.
Walked across the bridge and hung out by the water for a fair while. My friends jumped into the river and swam against the very aggressive current. I did not.
Finished the night getting dinner at a popular restaurant with local fares. Beer and carbs - great combo! Also met a traveling stranger who played piano - not pictured here, but we jammed together (improv) on a cute out-of-tune piano while we were waiting for a table, and it was so much fun!!!
Finished the meal in the nick of time, sprinted back to the train station to make the last train back to Vienna. A lovely, successful day trip!
